Use CloudNine Discovery Portal to overlay data to existing records in CloudNine Review.
With CloudNine Discovery Portal you can overlay additional data to existing records in a CloudNine Review project.
Overlay Data to Existing Records
- Launch CloudNine Discovery Portal. You are on the Welcome screen.
- Select the File System (e.g File Share, Hard Drive, Forensic Image, etc.) - CloudNine Review workflow.
- Click Continue.
- Use your CloudNine Review login credentials to connect to CloudNine Review, then Verify Your Identity.
- You are now on the What kind of data are you uploading? popup. Select the Production/Processed Data then click OK.
- You are now on the Select CloudNine Review Case screen. Enter an Upload name, and select the Case Name (project) you will overlay to, and click Next.
- On the Select Processed Data and Supported Files screen, Browse... to Select the Native .DAT Load File that will be used to overlay data to existing records in the database.
- Note: The data load file must have a .DAT extension and looks for the delimiters of Comma: (020) and quote (254). The delimiters can be adjusted on the Field Select / Map screen.
- Select Overlay Data onto Existing Records. The unique identifier that is the same in the load file and CloudNine Review project (typically Beg doc) will be selected on the next screen.
- Click Next to advance to the Field Selection screen. On the Field Selection screen, you will map the DAT File Fields to the CloudNine Review Fields to which you wish to update or overlay data.
- From the DAT file Fields, select the field that will be mapped to the Beg Bates (BegDoc), which is the key field. The key field contains unique identifiers and exists in both the load file and the CloadNine Review project. Typically, this is the BegDoc, BegBates, DocID, etc.
- If the DAT File Fields are not listed individually, the delimiters may not be accurate click the DAT File Fields option in the top right of the Dat File Fields column.
- This launches a popup to change Date Delimiters, Text Encoding, Date Format, and Load File Sample. Make necessary changes then click OK.

- Map the DAT File Fields to the CloudNine Review Fields.
- The Auto Map feature may be used to map fields with the same field name.
- If you have saved a Field Mapping Template.JSON file, you can use the Import option at the top of the Select/Mapped fields section.
- If the field does not exist, you can use the Create custom fields option at the top of the CloudNine Review Fields column to add a field to the CloudNine Review Project.
- When all fields you wish to upload are mapped, click Next to advance to the Confirm & Upload screen.
- On the Confirm & Upload screen review the Uploaded From and Uploading To information. Verify the data is accurate and add any optional Notes & Comments. When you are satisfied, click Start Upload to begin the overlay process.
- The upload begins and you are taken to the Global Monitoring Console. Here you can modify the progress of your upload a completed status indicates the data has been received by CloudNine Servers. You will receive email notifications when the data has been received and when it is ready in CloudNine Review.
