Subject: Awards Gala Invite

Dear Governor Bush:

On behalf of ITFlorida, thank you for your continuing and strong support of policies to advance the role of technology in the State of Florida. Your progressive policies have resulted in a single portal strategy for state government in myflorida.com, the establishment of the NAP of the Americas in Miami, creation of high tech Centers of Excellence across the state, and, most recently, the repeal of the Substitute Communications Systems Tax. Your focus on encouraging the development and deployment of advanced communications technologies for the benefit of all Floridians has resulted in a stronger and more diversified economy than we had a decade ago. Please know that ITFlorida is continuing to press forward on sound policy development.

To that end, we cordially invite you speak at our third annual ITFlorida Awards Gala and Technology Forum, to be hosted in cooperation with various companies and regional groups and held at Disney’s Contemporary Resort on December 14-15, 2005. Your presence at this event the past two years has been significant. As we collectively work toward making Florida a leader for high tech advancement, participants look to you for your leadership, We are especially grateful that you were able to attend and speak at our rescheduled event last year, which had been interrupted by Hurricane Charley.

At past ITFlorida events, you have delivered a State of Technology in Florida address to our organization. A similar address for 2005 would be welcome and appropriate for our luncheon on December 15. We expect over 300 attendees, largely composed of industry leaders from the public and private sector.

As always, we look forward to working with your staff to make this possible.

Sincerely,

Charles M. Davidson

Chair, ITFlorida

P.S. The formal invite is on its way, but I wanted to get this to you via email also.
