CloudNine Analyst: How do I Filter/Search by Control Number(s)?

Filter by Control Number(s)

In CloudNine Analyst, you can easily filter for a specific control number or list of control numbers separated by a comma (,) or space. You can also use wildcards *, ? to isolate control numbers by prefix, suffix, or a range of documents.

Control Number Search Syntax 

To Filter by Control Number(s)

  1. Login to CloudNine Analyst, and select DASHBOARD either from the top menu bar or the fly-out side menu. The Projects Dashboard page opens and displays a list of Active Projects you are assigned to. Select a Project.   
  2. You are now on the Project page. On this page, select review under Links or select Review Project Metadata from the Review & Analysis section of the fly-out side menu.

  3. The Review: Project Metadata page opens. Here you are able to apply Filters to search for specific data. In the Filters section, click CONTROL NUMBER to expand a text box.

  4. Enter a control number to search for a specific record, or use a space or a comma to enter multiple control numbers. 
  5. If desired choose SORT BY, ORDER, and ITEMS PER PAGE. Then click APPLY.
  6. You will receive a Gathering Data message, then the results are returned in the Chronological Item List.  You can now review your records. 

Copy and Paste Control Numbers

If you have a list of control numbers you need to review, you can copy and paste the list into the Edit Control Numbers popup. 

  1. In the Filters section, to the right of the CONTROL NUMBERS text box, click the expand option.

  2. The Edit Control Number popup appears.

  3. Copy & Paste your control number list into the dialog, then click INSERT
  4. If desired, set the SORT BY, ORDER, and ITEMS PER PAGE, then click APPLY
  5. A gathering data message appears, then results are returned in the Chronological Item List.  You have successfully returned a list of control numbers and can begin reviewing your data. 

If your control number list is separated by a hard return and you copy/paste it into the Edit Control Number popup, CloudNine Analyst will convert the hard returns to spaces. 

There is a 10,000-character limit, if you exceed this limit you will need to perform multiple filter searches.

Returns one record that matches the control number specified.

Returns two records matching the specified control numbers.

Returns two records matching the specified control numbers. 

AC01-CA*

Returns all records that begin with AC01-CA, followed by any number of characters. 

AC01-CA-000000*

Returns all records that begin with AC01-CA-000000, followed by any number of characters. In this example, 99 records are returned: AC01-CA-00000001 - AC01-CA-00000099 

AC01-CA-000001?1

Returns records that have the given control number with any character in place of the question mark. In this example, records AC01-CA-000000101, AC01-CA-000000111, AC01-CA-000000121, AC01-CA-000000131, etc. were returned. 

AC01-??-0000001

Returns records that have the given control number with any two characters where the question marks are, matching the remaining characters.  In this example, records AC01-CA-00000001 and AC01-EM-00000001 were returned. 

AC01-??-*

Returns all records that starts with AC01-, has two characters, then a dash, and any number of characters. In this example, all records starting with AC01-CA- and AC01-EM- are returned.
